Twine

Yard Theatre

until 21 September

A deeply emotional and imaginative exploration of adoption, told through the metaphorical journey of Sycamore and her fragmented inner selves—Seed, Sapling, and Bark.

The play dives into the trauma and healing process of Black child adoption, addressing themes of family separation, longing, and identity. Sycamore, the central character, reflects on the scars of her past and confronts the unresolved pain of losing her birth family, even while thriving in her adoptive one.

Visually engaging, the production uses stylized trees, symbolic costumes, and ethereal sound design to create a dreamlike space for this self-exploration.
