Part of my TOP 5 Shows to see in September
An urban gothic play by Tife Kusoro, blending supernatural horror with sharp social commentary.
It follows three Black teens in inner-city London who fear Baitface the Gullyman, a spirit tied to racial trauma and injustice. As they are caught up in a crime investigation, reality and myth blur.
The play deftly tackles themes of cultural identity, racial injustice, and personal struggles, including a subplot around gender identity.
Kusoro’s writing is imaginative, with a chilling atmosphere, non-linear storytelling, and striking choreography that amplifies the tension
